Currently using 3x4gb in a server setup, switching to 2x8gb at 3000mhz would make it 2x4gb and 2x8gb across different lanes on a B350-f motherboard. It’s not a major issue since the voltage will stay the same. Think of it more like a downclock rather than an overclock, just aiming for a balanced setting. The 3000mhz remains unchanged, so it’s not a compatibility problem. A stable configuration at 2666mhz per channel sounds better than trying to hit 2133mhz speed. Consider the Corsair LPX 2666Mhz 2x4gb and RGB PRO 3000Mhz 2x8gb kits.
1.25v non-XMP works fine with 2400. XMP doesn’t seem to function properly here, and the 1.2v setup is too weak. Still, 2400 performs better than 2133.
