Hello, I came to this forum seeking assistance from Corsair. My experience has been frustrating. I was expecting a simple RMA return, but things went wrong. A faulty Corsair Platinum PSU caused a voltage spike that damaged my 16GB Vengeance PRO RGB RAM. Corsair approved an ARMA for the PSU, and the process proceeded without issues. The real trouble started when I filed a ticket for the RAM, which should include a lifetime warranty. An agent at Corsair approved an RMA for just one module on July 14th, explaining they usually handle both modules together. Since I didn’t have the second module, they approved the return based on the single one. They promised to ship a complete (two-module) set and asked me to send back the faulty RAM along with the other module when I returned it. I did that. By August 4th, Corsair had received both modules. Unfortunately, they didn’t refund my credit card hold. My ticket was sent to an escalation manager who has now refused to honor the RMA for my damaged RAM. This RAM was again destroyed by a faulty Corsair PSU. Whenever I contact Corsair, their representatives tell me this case is now with that manager. He doesn’t seem to grasp the situation and keeps insisting Corsair RAMs are sold in pairs. They also ignore the fact that: 1) The warranty applies to individual units, and 2) A Corsair representative has already authorized an RMA for just one module. There’s a ~$200 hold on my card they’re not willing to lift. This situation is very upsetting and feels like bad-faith treatment. I’m unsure what to do next. All I need is a replacement for the broken RAM and the removal of the credit card hold. Are there any Corsair representatives available to help me? @Corsair Nick Thanks in advance.

You're asking about how Corsair handles defective RAM modules. They typically send you a replacement unit, and you return the faulty one along with the new one you receive, ensuring you end up with a working module overall. They've also received a pair of RAM sticks back in your case.

Sorry for any confusion... One stick was damaged. An agent approved the ARMA using just one stick. Corsair sent a complete kit (two sticks). They asked me to replace one of the new ones with the faulty one and return two sticks. I followed their instructions. Corsair has received two sticks back—one defective, one new. Now they are reconsidering, and won’t refund my credit card. I’m facing significant difficulties resolving this; I’ve spent many hours on the phone and emailing them.

It would have been confusing to share the information about the shipping. The sticks aren’t individually numbered, so the process got mixed up. Just ask them to correct the issue or consider a chargeback. Also, don’t split the sets—they’re meant to go together.

I possess just one stick of RAM... The ARMA was approved considering this. And, indeed, each unit is individually serial numbered...

It's odd, I've damaged my USB multiple times for my Corsair wireless headphones, and each time they replaced it with another one for free. It seems there might be some mix-up or misunderstanding that has gotten worse.

I’m not sure about the situation. It seems the manager is acting unusually, and I might need to dispute the charge on my card. This feels confusing.

The manager is proposing a refund for half of my payment, which would cover just another single item from them. This seems to be tied to a warranty claim. I'm really upset. I believed Corsair provided better support than this situation. I won’t purchase from them again if they don’t keep their promises. It’s unclear whether they actually care.

Don't go that route. Perhaps suggest a refund unless we resolve this more respectfully. Be honest about what I understand. Confirmed, you're not acting irrational. Edit: For extra flair, direct the manager to this discussion.

It's completely unreasonable. I believe the person here might need to review this soon, since a chargeback could be my best choice now.
