Hi, I recently purchased an Orico 95RU3 Series dual bay 3.5 inch External HDD Enclosure for my laptop. I often face issues where it works fine during downloads but then spins up to 100% and stays stuck. When I disconnect it to take the laptop to college and reconnect it later, it shows as corrupted four times. I've tried Orico's software, but it can't detect the disk—even though I have a Seagate Compute 5400 rpm 4TB drive. It also fails to reformat properly, and various commands don’t help. This is frustrating for obvious reasons. Before I feel embarrassed for not choosing Synology, I bought the HDD new at half price for a significant discount. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Are you safely removing it? Disconnecting or taking it out? Windows tends to handle things quietly in the background, and when the "copy" window vanishes at 100%, it’s likely still working behind the scenes. My thought is you might be unplugging it while it’s saving data, which could damage the file system.

I haven't always been very cautious while unplugging it, just making sure something is recorded or read.
