Maybe we can get a thread going where people post the problems with the game and their findings when it comes to COD: AW. Some people have done their best to share their results so far but a central thread is probably a good idea. I've messed with most of the stuff in the config files (and ingame settings of course) so I think I have a decent idea on what we can expect, but it's alsways a good idea to have multiple people testing and trying out stuff because the placebo effect is real when it comes to lag issues and whatnot. Also, to get 2 things out of the way: I'm not posting this in the guides section because it is not a complete guide but more of a community effort for people here to post and share their results. And yes, there is a steam thread and the forums on steam are basically full of this as well, but the steam forums are also full of assholes and trolls and it's usually a way nicer atmosphere on here for a proper discussion. With that out of the way, here are my config edits and changes so far (you can find the config file under SteamApps\common\Call of Duty Advanced Warfare\players2\config_mp): 1. Mouse acceleration: There simply is no "fix" for this right now, but you can drastically reduce it by either changing the polling rate of your mouse to 125Hz (I wouldn't recommend it, it feels like garbage IMO) or with a few config edits: change cl_yawspeed and cl_pitchspeed from 140 to 0. That basically has the same effect as switching to a lower polling rate for me but my mouse still runs at 1000Hz. Mouse acceleration is not gone but it is way more consistent. Do not mess with m_yaw or m_pitch like some people have recommended, it directly impacts your sensitivity ingame and doesn't seem to help for me. Also make sure that cl_mouseAccel as well as m_filter are set to 0. If you want to have the same sensitivity as in other games visit mouse-sensitivity.com 2. Lag issues: For the love of god (or whatever deity you may or may not believe in) change cl_maxping to something reasonable (the standard value is 800ms.....). Mine is set to 120 and I can still find games quick enough. Also, you can try changing ui_browserShowDedicated to 1 and ui_browserShowEmpty, ui_browserShowFull to 0. That is supposed to favor dedicated servers when you're looking for a game, I can't confirm it yet but the few games that I've played with these settings have been pretty good. 3. Motion blur: There's a bit of motion blur enabled that you can't really turn off in the video options, just change r_mblimit to 0 if you want to get rid of it. 4. Stuttering while playing: Enable shader precaching. Yes, loading times will be longer but the stuttering will be gone from my experience. I'ts definitely worth it IMO. 5. Bad performance: The game runs just fine on my R9 290 but I heard that many people have had success with enabling borderless window mode instead of fullscreen, choosing "auto'" aspect ration instead of manually setting it (for whatever reason), and you can also tweak stuff like ai_corpselimit or r_elevatedpriority and see if that helps you. 6. Blurry textures: Disable both shadowcaching options. They seem to be broken in some way because the game looks like ass if you turn them on. I think that's it for the "fixes" that worked for me. Of course there's still other issues like the fps cap in multiplayer or the limited FOV, but I don't think that we'll be able to get around that just yet.

Opt for a different investment of $60 and consider stopping there.

I've tried it—it's certainly enjoyable, though there are even deeper games available.

Lol I don't think either of you got my joke, oh well. Check out his member title. Edit: Also I'm not hating on AW either, I have it and I like it almost as much as MW2.

This decision depends on individual preferences. Many enjoy Skyrim, but I personally found it challenging to engage with.

The game works well, but the servers are terrible. I'll keep playing if they improve them.

The main issue highlighted in early Steam feedback seems to be the absence of dedicated servers, though some positive opinions exist. Since I don’t usually play highly futuristic titles—except Arma 3 set in 2035—I’ll skip this game.
