I've been learning how to push my CPU beyond its limits over the past weeks, but I'm still struggling to grasp the details of "Turbo Ratio Offset." The auto-OC my BIOS suggests works well, so I followed its advice but adjusted the voltage from a fixed 1.4V to an adaptive setting (currently 1.35V with +2 offset) to prevent damage. I think this adjustment fine-tunes some cores to match the turbo frequency, though I haven't seen it activate in Task Manager or MSI Afterburner. On All Core, I can reach 4.9GHz before thermal issues appear, whereas Turbo Ratio Offset seems to cap performance at around 6-8 cores (5.2GHz on two, 4.8GHz on all). With titles like Ready or Not, Escape From Tarkov, Fallout 4, and WoW, would All Core or Turbo Ratio Offset be more suitable? I'm leaning toward All Core now, but I need a bit more certainty. My current setup uses an MSI Pro Wifi motherboard with a NH-D15 cooler, a 11700k CPU on a PCIe Gen 4 card, and an RTX 3080 Ti GPU. XMP is set to 3000MHz, which pushes BCLK up to 102.3—yet I can't reach 5.0GHz. If I switch to All Core at 48 ratio with the same XMP profile, I'm hitting 4.8GHz *102.3BCLK = 4.90GHz. On Turbo Ratio Offset, my numbers come out close to 4.9GHz (4.79GHz*102.3BCLK). My math seems correct, but I'm still unsure if All Core is truly better or if tweaking BCLK and XMP settings would help. I'm considering lowering BCLK back to 100, reducing RAM to 2933MHz, and boosting All Core ratio to 50 for more stability. My main aim is steady frame rates under heavy load—not just maximum numbers. My tests in offline mode with bots running at high settings have kept me around 70-80fps, up from 60-70 before my basic OC. When pushing harder, I can reach 80-90fps without crashes. I'm aiming for a steady rate above 72fps during these runs. I'm still trying to distinguish between my results now and earlier ones. EDIT: I switched to All Core at 49 ratio, lowered XMP to 2933MHz, and achieved both my target frame rate and stable temps. This seems to be the sweet spot for me.
