Hi! Sorry for the language mix-up. I went ahead with the OC process for the 8700k on the Asus Maximus X Hero board, following the instructions. If you're not sure, I also looked at Der8auer's guide—it's very similar (about 99%): everything seems okay. I managed to get a stable base and everything worked fine. The only issue I noticed was with AVX negative offset.
From what I understand, if the processor "recognizes" AVX instructions, it will adjust and maintain a stable speed (like dropping to around -100 or -200 depending on settings). In stress tests, I expected around 4.9GHz-100, but instead I saw fluctuations between 4.8 and 4.9 every couple of seconds during testing. Even when idle, the speed still changed wildly without AVX enabled.
The main problem seems to be related to AVX itself. When I disabled it, the system stayed stable with a consistent speed, but when I tried to run programs that used AVX, the core speed would jump up and down between 4.9 and 4.8 GHz. This pattern happened repeatedly—about 2 to 4 seconds of 4.9GHz followed by a drop to 4.8GHz for a second or two.
I also checked the time code from Der8auer's guide (around 15:04) and saw that in real tests, core speed stayed stable at the set frequency (like 5000) until AVX was active. Some users reported similar behavior on Windows 10, where performance only improved when AVX was enabled.
It might be because older BIOS versions or certain settings made the system unstable with AVX running. I think a BIOS update or a CMOD reset could help. Also, adjusting maximum performance in Windows 10 might make a difference. If you need someone to walk through this step-by-step, let me know!

i didn't see 4897 either, but i figured out how to test programs with AVX on the system. it seems tough, though. i tried disabling extra settings, but it didn’t help. using AVX0 is an option, but even then, reaching a stable 4.8ghz requires a core voltage of about 1.310. going up to 1.340 would be a huge jump for my chip, which most people can hit at 4.8ghz with AVX0. that’s why i’m looking for alternatives to make it work without that high voltage.
You're testing OCCT with a specific AVX version on a stress test, and you want to ensure it's ready for high load. Make sure the H60 isn't involved. The relevant executable is OCCT5.5.4.exe.
Yeah OCCCT is exaclty what im using for stability test (aida FPU test for burning). x62 kraken on board, its pretty nice "cooler". Since i think there is no chance that i will find solution with AVX, will keep 4.8ghz with 1.32 vcore.... but gush its so much for 4.8 lol, cant believe im so unlucky with chip
I use 5GHz at 1.32v for several years now, just like Wolf (Plutosaurus). Everything is fine. As he mentioned, anything below 1.4 is straightforward.
