It relates to the motherboard. If a sensor fails, it sends constant throttling commands to your CPU through the BD PROCHOT route. Using ThrottleStop stops these signals so your CPU can run at maximum performance without being restricted. It will still respond to overheating by throttling as intended by Intel. Turning off BD PROCHOT doesn’t remove this protection, which is beneficial.
