Phenom II and Core 2 represent the final generation of x86 processors that don’t include a remote management chip, positioning them as potentially the most secure options available. They remain valuable for high-speed routing tasks or secure NAS environments. Avoid repurposing functional silicon into novelty items—there’s still plenty of obsolete parts out there. You can modify their appearance and use any desired markings on less critical components as long as the overall form remains consistent.

The problem lies in the fact that motherboards are prohibitively costly, leading to frequent failures compared to CPUs. There simply aren’t enough motherboards available to match the demand for CPUs.

They're essentially the shipping fee on eBay. If you need a few backups, it's worth buying them. The issue is you can't find the motherboards.

I have around a dozen components, ranging from AM3+ to LGA775/771. I've been delaying selling them. One could run a CNC desktop mill with one, but that's the extent of it. I still rely on an x58 LGA1366 (Xeon W3680) machine every day.
