I've been testing my overclocked Core 2 Duo for about a week and just installed Psensor (on Linux Elementary). Temp1 shows the CPU temperature at 127°C. I suspect the sensor might not be working right because if the CPU were actually idling at that temperature, it wouldn't have failed sooner.

It seems unusual... There isn't any cooling present. The processor would have stopped running unless the T-Probe was turned off.

The computer would likely have turned off before hitting that temperature. Probably due to a faulty sensor or incorrect software interpretation. If you don’t notice any issues and there’s no noticeable cooling, it’s probably nothing to worry about.

127 equals 1111111 in binary. Such a number usually appears when a sensor is missing or faulty. Disregard this measurement.
