I haven't used the tool recently, so I'm checking this carefully because I couldn't find the information elsewhere. The USB currently shows 8 files from the tool, but I'm unsure if that's the default after installation or just what appears during boot. If it's always those 8 files, leaving them decompressed isn't harmful, though you should verify the setup process.

The bootable USB functions identically to a CD or DVD. The setup doesn't modify any storage devices during execution. If a key is needed, it's a standard one you can locate easily online. Activation codes aren't saved on the media since they're not linked in that way.
