Hi,
I'm using a Ryzen 5 3600 with MSI X470 gaming plus max and Bequiet pure rock slim. I'm ready to move past this tweaking phase and start fully enjoying my new build. How can I copy my Ryzen Master settings into the BIOS so they take effect on PC? I've set PPT to 65w in creator mode, which lowered my gaming temps from 79-80°C to around 69-70°C. My Cinebench score is now 3521, and it's the highest I've ever achieved since turning it on a few months ago (3587). I'm satisfied with the rest of the performance. I understand how to adjust PPT, but how do I replicate the PBO setting? Should I just switch it from Auto to Enable? Thanks in advance.

You turned on PBO but didn't modify any parameters it permits, such as PPT, TDC, EDC, or the PBO Scalar setting. These include options in your BIOS, at least. The AUTO preset doesn't seem to help, while the MOTHERBOARD preset adjusts PPT, TDC, and EDC to BIOS-defined limits specific to your motherboard, but with minimal performance effect.

Thanks Zera, everything is fine as it is. Just need to reduce the temperature a bit. I also enjoy playing GTA and other less intense games.

PBO increases temperatures and does not reduce them. For a slight drop in performance, you might switch it off.

Thank you, I can try. But do you know if simply clicking the PBO tab in Ryzen Master and then applying it means you've activated PBO regardless of the PPT, TDC, and EDC configurations? Also, are there any critical minimum values for PPT?

Certain values from RM move to BIOS/CMOS, but not all of them, and you can observe them in the BIOS settings.

You activated PBO but didn't necessarily alter any operating parameters within its permitted range. These include PPT, TDC, EDC, and the PBO Scalar configuration. It's unclear exactly which options are available, though BIOS settings typically exist. The AUTO preset appears ineffective for me. The MOTHERBOARD preset adjusts PPT, TDC, and EDC to BIOS-defined limits specific to my motherboard, but its performance impact is minimal.

There doesn't seem to be a setting that poses a real risk, based on my experience; PBO won't override the CPU's safety features that regulate voltage and clock speeds when temperatures rise. Excessive current draw could cause instability and crashes, though this shouldn't occur with a Gaming Plus Max running a 3600 CPU.

PBO configurations vary across many (likely all?) motherboards running Ryzen 3000 BIOS; my system uses the same version. I can push settings to their extremes without major performance drops, but some middle-ground options provide advantages. A video is available that suggests simple adjustments—such as setting PPT to 330, TDC and EDC to 230—for improved results.

As mentioned before: PBO increases heat generation significantly. Enhanced cooling solutions are just as important as the software tweaks to achieve the performance gains it promises, especially when temperatures climb and voltage/clock stability becomes critical.
