Copy operating system from HDD without partitions to SSD
I recently purchased a new SSD and need to duplicate my OS (Windows 10) onto it for booting. The challenge is that my HDD has no partitions, making it impossible to clone just the system drive. Cloning the entire disc isn’t feasible since my HDD exceeds 600GB while the SSD is only 250GB. Is there a workaround for this situation? Thank you ahead of time.
Move as much data off the HDD as possible, keeping it below 250GB. Remove unnecessary files, especially Steam games that can simply be re-downloaded. Reduce the size of the existing drive to under 250GB. Apply Macrium Reflect to create a clone of the drive. Reinstall your applications.
You only possess your Windows volume partition. You can generate additional partitions and decide which data to transfer. However, with more than 600 GB and just 250 GB SSD, it might be challenging.
