Coordination among players in Overwatch
You've just begun exploring Overwatch about a month ago. Initially, you focused on AI matches until you reached level 10. Now you mostly play in quick matches. You've noticed facing high-level teams (like 100s or 70-something players) and often getting defeated even with counterplay. Are the matchmaking systems functioning properly? Based on your experience, it seems like you're having trouble finding suitable opponents. Out of ten matches, you win three at most.
Your rank in Overwatch doesn't reflect your true ability. Some players reach level 500 while others start with just 100. It mainly shows how long they've been playing.
Essentially, everyone receives an invisible ranking that determines how you're placed in the game. You're paired with others at comparable skill levels. If you're consistently losing, it might be due to bad teamwork, poor choices, or simply not playing well.
The post offers helpful insights: ^there are no real measurements, just predictions, hmm... essentially, it finds players outside my skill or ping range, so it widens its search. ^I've never encountered this before. lol what? If I'm matched with a group labeled: [TROLL] Number1 [TROLL] Number2 [TROLL] Number3 [TROLL] Number4 [TROLL] Number5 [TROLL] Number6 It's clear they're all together.... I'm definitely not a top player (just started playing for a month), but I can handle it. Some games are solid, like the one last night where we played with a 1-2 minute overtime and won as attackers with a payload. Others are terrible, especially when teammates are bad (often my player sets an ice wall at spawn). That makes losing feel unavoidable without even reaching the goal. I really want to enjoy the game, I love the character design and overall system, but this matchmaking keeps disappointing me.
