Hey guys here's my current build Cpu: 7900x Cooling: H150i capellix elite GPU: 6950xt reference Ram: gskill flare X5 ddr5 32gb Mobo: Asus ROG B650E-F Bios is updated PSU: EVGA super GT 1000w Case: Hyte Y40 I currently have Two fans (silent wings) for intake on the side. and my aio up top. 1 exhaust and 1 fan located in my lower bay near my PSU. I think I run a pretty decent fan curve and run the 7900x in 105w eco mode but I feel like I still see higher temps. Idling or under light load my CPU can reach into the higher to mid 60's and my pump coolant lands into the 40's to 45 celcius. Which only started to get rise slowly the longer my PC is on. Im worried these are decently high temps for my situation. I do know the 7900x runs hot but figured it would be controlled by eco mode. GPU usually runs in the mid 60's but can get high up there when playing Hogwarts legacy. My question is to lower temps would it be smart to switch out my entire case to something with better airflow like a mesh case (meshify 2), would it benefit at all? Should I just try to reseat my aio with new paste? Any thoughts would help, still a little newer to building PCs. I do like the look of the hyte y40 but I'd rather my PC have better temps so I'm willing to swap cases or whatever I have to do. Thanks again and I appreciate the help!

The simplest method to lower temperatures is activating eco mode or reducing the CPU usage further. Cutting back on CPU usage decreases the full load clock speeds, which helps without affecting performance much for non-intensive tasks. The low idle temps are acceptable. You can adjust the PPT limiter in BIOS to cap the CPU at around 80W or 75W, significantly cutting peak temperatures. Although gaming sessions might still experience spikes, they become less frequent. Finding similar settings for other brands isn't guaranteed, but for my ASRock B650E, the steps are: Advanced → AMD CBS → SMU → PPT in mW set to 75000 for a 75W limit. For my 7800x3d model, this brought temps down from 88–90°C to 67–69°C.
