I have an i5 9600k and notice it slows down in certain games. I overclocked it to get better performance, but I’m testing around 5GHz or 4.9GHz on a Z390 AX Pro. I’m unsure if the motherboard can handle higher speeds. I own a cheap stock cooler for under 5 euros, but it won’t work with overclocking. Anyone recommend a good budget cooler and some extra performance fans? (I already have the stock exhaust fan from my case—the Aerocool Cylon and two additional ones.) If needed, I’m open to higher-end options later, like brackets for future builds. Thanks!
I manage to keep the 9600K running smoothly in my second system using a Vetroo V5, and it handles a 4.8GHz OC without any problems. For similar performance, the Hyper 212 and Thermalright Assassin Spirit are solid budget picks. Overall, most tower coolers work well. The 9600K isn’t overly demanding. The RX 590 would pair nicely, though speed gains depend on the game’s bottleneck, which you should consider.
