Hi,
I’m looking to BCLK an i3 6100 up to 4.5 GHz. The issue is that my stock cooler isn’t sufficient, especially under heavy loads like GTA V. It performs poorly even at normal speeds when the CPU is stressed. Could you suggest a suitable low-profile CPU cooler that fits your needs? I’m aiming for something affordable yet effective, with around 15-16cm of space available. Thanks!

because it's not a non-K CPU, overclocking isn't too difficult, although it's not straightforward. I haven't found a detailed guide, but it mainly involves adjusting just the base clock. There are some motherboards recently released that make this possible: For your question, the typical advice is that the Hyper 212 Evo offers good value for money as a CPU cooler right now. It's 15.9 cm long, but you might fit it depending on your case. If you share the make of your case, I could give more specific help.

The cooler's height should not surpass 140mm above the motherboard. You might find more details at the provided links.

I notice you're looking for a quiet cooler option. Based on the information, it seems you'd benefit from something with lower power usage. The review suggests a model with 65W power consumption and a maximum temperature of around 65 degrees, which aligns with your preference. Would you like me to check if a 130W TDP device is suitable for your needs?

I think I misunderstood, you don't really need a low-profile cooler, but most high-end coolers of normal size aren't suitable either. Personally, I use the Hyper TX3 Evo (13.6 cm), which is just right for you. The cooler you picked is also fine, though not the best. If I were you, I'd choose the cheaper option.

Thineswar thought he wasn't too clear about the situation, but it seems most high-end coolers won't work well with a low profile one either. He mentioned using the Hyper TX3 Evo, which fits your size (13.6 cm). The cooler you picked is still decent. If I were you, I'd choose the cheaper option. That's fair. Thanks for the advice!
