Cool 'n' Quiet question
Cool 'n' Quiet question
I'm preparing for an overclock on my FX-8350 tomorrow. I understand the basics, but:
Most people recommend turning off Cool 'n' Quiet and pushing the processor up to 4.5GHz. Would this allow it to run at that speed even when idle?
Could this cause the CPU temperature to stay high and lead to faster wear over time because it needs more voltage than at lower speeds (like 3-2Ghz) when running quietly? Or is there no issue with that?
Yes, I understand the topic of cooling. With an H55, I'm not concerned about 4.8Ghz+, I'm comfortable with 4.5GHz or even 4.6GHz.
