Someone on the lightworks forum mentioned issues with variable frame rate and AVC compression in Shadowplay. They suggest converting your source file and maintaining a steady frame rate. Can anyone assist with this or guide you further?

Initially, I'm not very comfortable with Lightworks, though I can edit there. AVC isn't the easiest format to handle. Consider using a free tool like Handbrake (my go-to safe option) to convert into H.264 or MP4. Once that's done, Lightworks should accept the files correctly. If it doesn't, your storage device might be skipping frames. With slower media such as a hard drive, frame drops will lead to inconsistent speed. If you're using two or more solid SSDs (like Intel or Samsung 850 PRO in RAID0) or an NVMe drive, frame issues should be avoided. Try Handbrake (handbrake.fr) for H.264 and MPEG conversion.

The issue wasn't the frame rate; it was the audio delay after editing in Lightworks! This occurred across various videos, and I wasn't involved.

I'm still getting the hang of Lightworks, and I doubt I can assist you well. The only other possibility I had in mind was that the video hasn't finished rendering yet, but I assume you're not thinking too hard about it (I've checked that already!). Thanks for understanding. :

That's understandable. I'm glad you're considering HitFilm 3 for your maid video editing project.

For fresh options, starting with Premiere Pro is a solid choice. It offers strong features and a large community help. If you're using a Hackintosh, Autodesk Smoke is available for students at no cost. Here are a few more ideas. And when you use the latest Creative Cloud version, you can also access tools like Adobe Media Encoder and After Effects... (this advice isn't from Adobe, just a note)

Unfortunately, there isn't a heckintosh available, but I've gathered some alternatives for students. I might explore further later.
