Hello everyone, I've used my girlfriend's 2011 MacBookPro to download an original copy of High Sierra. I need to create a bootable .app file so it can work with unRAID. I followed the instructions and it functions properly, except for the issue where her Mac runs OS X Lion and doesn't support newer versions like this one. The app is on the desktop, but I can't open the Install Disk Creator because after selecting the High Sierra .app file, the icon is crossed and clicking "Create Installer" doesn't work. Could you help? I also have a Windows 10 laptop—any advice for making it bootable from unRAID (result should be .img or .dmg)? Thanks in advance. Oscar

Consider upgrading your Mac's OS. OS X Lion is no longer supported, but High Sierra should work fine. Make sure you have at least OS X Mountain Lion installed to run the Sierra and High Sierra updates. If updating isn't possible, you can find instructions here: https://tylermade.net/2017/10/05/how-to-...installer/

We confirmed our payment of 21 euros for the OS update. After that, I could use the installer for High Sierra. Thanks!

You spent money on Mountain Lion? That’s rough. Installing Sierra or High Sierra would have been free. Your girlfriend is still using outdated software... but at least it worked!
