The Roku Ethernet port is capped at 100Mbps, which means content over that limit won’t work properly from my server using Plex. The main problem is needing to use the Xfinity app instead of something else. I’ve managed to reduce the data usage to under 100Mbps and it works fine, but it’s still bothersome because you can notice the difference.

The device's performance is constrained by its hardware capabilities. Consider using Wi-Fi for quicker connections, though boosting Ethernet speed isn't possible.

The only way forward is to upgrade to a 1 gbs device then.

This is a hardware limitation. If you need faster speeds than your current hardware can offer, it's time to upgrade to something faster.

The sole choice is the 2022 Apple TV 4K 128GB variant, the only one offering gigabit Ethernet, while the Fire TV cube remains limited to 10/100 Ethernet.

They continue to use outdated components because modern upgrades haven't been implemented yet. The technology has not advanced far enough for current devices to benefit from faster speeds.

They probably receive these chips for a very low cost.

Nvidia shield supports gigabit speeds too, even on the older versions.
