Hi, you're looking to switch from Windows 10 to Windows 11 on a PC that uses an MBR drive. You're right about needing to convert the drive to GPT format, which is necessary for UEFI support and modern Windows versions. You can likely do this without data loss if you follow the proper steps. Enabling UEFI only in the BIOS might cause the system to restart immediately, but it won't prevent a successful installation once configured correctly.

Did you verify compatibility with Windows 11 before proceeding, since you require more than just UEFI?

Yes, it has worked with the hardware (Ryzen 3 3200G). The main issue was the one mentioned earlier. I didn’t proceed because changing the MBR to GPT could be risky if not handled properly.

The tool allows changing an MBR to a GPT while keeping existing data intact.

Oh no, I regret not understanding that before getting my latest PC! I just brushed it off and ran a clean install.
