Hi everyone, I’m moving from an old HDD to a new SSD and want to transfer everything. Since I don’t have access to the Windows key and no data is stored on the drive, I’m looking for a way to do this safely. I understand the process might erase everything, so I’ll proceed with caution.

Check if it connects to your Microsoft account. If yes, obtain an ISO file from Windows and create a bootable USB to install. It should activate itself. If not, purchase a license online for €10-20.

I would link the SSD to the PC using a SATA to USB adapter (available online for around $8) and perform a drive clone with a utility such as MiniTool Partition Wizard. This ensures your data remains intact and avoids issues with Windows activation.
