Convert from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows.
Hello, I'm setting up a gaming setup and have a few questions. I purchased Windows 7 Home Premium with both a 64-bit and a 32-bit disk. The 64-bit version is installed in a bootcamp partition on my iMac. Can I use the 32-bit disk on my new PC? Does the product key only apply to one of the two disks? Once activated, is the 32-bit disk no longer useful? Also, if I install it on my new machine and activate it, could I upgrade to Windows 10 while keeping the 64-bit version? Thanks for your assistance.
You can contact M$ and request the key renewal by mentioning you’re switching to a new system.
On the Mac version, use Windows CMD (admin privileges) to remove the key from the Mac. Run slmgr -upk, connect to Microsoft, and follow the prompts to activate Windows. You may be able to install it directly with the key without further steps. Uncertain if I've done this before since I still have 500 keys for Windows 7 and 10. Removing the 64-bit version from your Mac allows you to reinstall it. Adding a 32-bit version isn't useful.
