Hi guys, this is kind of an abstract question. I have an Asus Prime Z390-a board with a 9900KF. I'm not interested in changing my board/cpu. I did however switch to a bequiet! light wings 360mm aio, and It has a 3 pin RGB connector. Those who are familiar with this board know that it doesn't have a 3 pin RGB connector, anywhere. It only have 4 pin connectors, which obviously won't work with this cooler. I did some research and have been completely unable to find ANY solutions, other than to get a different board, which is off the table. So on that topic, how could I go about getting RGB to my pump/water block and the fan hub? I'm not necessarily opposed to adding a converter, like some people have said will/could work. If you guys know anything, let me know. I'll be busy the rest of the day as I have a final. Thanks in advance Smile

ARGB and RGB operate differently, employing distinct voltages, which makes the process more complex. Using an independent controller helps address this issue.

Be cautious—standard adapters often fail. A 5V signal on a 12V system is acceptable for RGB, but it may not function properly. Using 12V with a 5V RGB setup can damage the system and disrupt other components.

Find an RGB hub compatible with 3-pin RGB connections. Alternatively, use an EVGA GPU with a 3-pin header; it functions well with OpenRGB.

Choose between a hub or a hands-on approach if you already have a buck converter. You can reduce the voltage from 12 to 5 volts. I found some 3D printed 2-pin 25x25 fans that improve airflow between my GPU and motherboard. They work on 12V but can be quite loud at high speeds. I used a buck converter to lower their voltage and speed. I purchased 10 buck converters for $15 on AliExpress.

Yes, my previous fans were Corsair and used the USB header for color control. I hadn’t considered this method with the new fans until today in class. What’s a suitable option? Are there affordable controllers that work well?
