Controller & PSU for Burnt Lian Li fan
Hi, this is my first time building pc and i did the following I have a lian li controller that controls fans and it needs to be hooked to 2 SATA power supplies and 1 usb header to work. I hooked up fans to this connector, and just plugged in the 15pin SATA power supplies. And then I switched on the PSU. At this point no other device was connected to psu not even the motherboard, i just wanted to check if fans would run, also the controller was only connected to psu and fans and no other connections were done(usb to mobo was not done basically) . Within 5seconds I could smell burnt plastic kind of smell from both PSU and controller. I am not sure if this is compatibility issue or I need to plug in everything in for controller and then only connect psu sata connector. I am very new to this forum, so very sorry if I do something wrong, any guidance will be really appreciated. Thanks
