When I attempt to link the gamepad, it’s recognized as an input device rather than a wireless controller and remains indefinitely in the “connecting” state.

The thing is that I had it working before but the controller suddenly disconnected and the thing I stated above happened.
There are a couple of options. Initially, check if any of your Wifi & Bluetooth drivers need to be updated. This is a common issue with wireless devices. Other than that, for now, can you try connecting it via USB and tell me if it works fine with all the features?

For a computer, I strongly suggest using the USB connection. Alternatively, you’ll require DS4Windows since Windows doesn't offer native Dualshock compatibility—though they exist, their numerous issues result in an unacceptable user experience.

Regarding personal computers and PlayStation controllers, I suggest connecting through a USB port. Otherwise, you’ll likely need to use DS4Windows since Windows doesn't fully support the Dualshock controller natively – despite some compatibility, numerous issues often result in a frustrating experience. Previously, this worked for me, but recently the controller disconnected, leading to these problems.
