Do it really worth keeping? I face issues where it often blocks legitimate apps and lacks an exception list. For instance, it stops MSI Afterburner or ICUE from working even though they run normally. Recently, I bought Hogwarts Legacy from Epic Game and it didn’t start at all because of a Smart App Control block. I’m confident the game is safe and free of malware, but I’m worried if I disable the control, I’ll have to reinstall Windows from scratch—which is really frustrating.

Using a reliable third-party audio/video solution or being cautious about downloading from untrustworthy sites works well. You can turn off Smart App controls, which is mainly useful for people unfamiliar with computers.
