Hey! I compiled a summary of everything that's occurred, along with my system details, so it should be easier for you to follow. Specs: Motherboard is ROG B650E-F, CPU is 7800X3D, PSU is Corsair RM850x, RAM is a pair of 16GB DDR5 6000MT units from Corsair Vengeance. All drivers are current. What's happening: The power button isn't responding—just stays off. When I power on the PC, it turns on but doesn’t boot normally. If I press the power button while the PSU is running in the back, the BIOS Flashback LED keeps blinking. This has happened since the system started, so I didn’t expect it. I’ve reset the CMOS several times and even tried swapping the PSUs, but they still don’t work. RAM and CPU were re-seated. I booted the PC without the GPU, using just one RAM stick. I checked for shorts or loose components—nothing found. I flashed the BIOS to see if it was corrupt and installed a new update from the BIOS menu. (Note: The Flashback LED kept flashing in intensity during the flash, but I’m unsure if it succeeded.) I’ve followed all troubleshooting steps so far. Let me know if you need more details! - Matt Edited November 26, 2024 by JaageR777 Added "important note"

Testing the switch pins by shorting them with a screwdriver could affect their function. Using the reset button as a power button might help identify issues with the power switch.

Oops, it looks like you missed adding that item. They don’t function properly. I attempted to condense them, but the computer didn’t respond. Unfortunately, there’s no restart option available.

I believe the motherboard might be faulty. Is it still covered under warranty? It's time to reach out to support and start a return merchandise authorization. A malfunctioning BIOS could be causing the flashback light to flicker unpredictably, but after updating with a new BIOS, this seems unlikely to be a basic issue. You could also attempt to install an older BIOS if the current one is suspected of being outdated. Good luck!

I checked earlier when updating the BIOS before applying the latest version. However, I thought it might be an RMA, so I wanted to confirm if others faced the same issue. It could be better to avoid waiting until the motherboard fails completely! Thanks!

Definitely some electrical gremlin lives in your board, the power pins SHOULD start any PC with a working board BTW clean it thoroughly, dust or other filth can cause shorts

Avoid using the "flashback" button for flashing, as it’s definitely unusual.

Thanks for your time and assistance. I'll return the board to ASUS. The topic will close now so it won't appear again even though the problem is fixed! Have a great day!
