Hi, I've been searching for the right forum for a while now, especially because this is my first time dealing with an issue. I hope this site isn't completely offSmile My gaming laptop from Medion (German brand) Eraser P 15805 came with Control Center 3.0 pre-installed, which let me adjust fan speed, power modes, and RGB settings on the keyboard – everything worked perfectly until about four days ago. Then I lost control over power modes (energy saving, silent, performance, balanced) and the keyboard's RGB lighting. I first tried a repair, then reset it using Windows settings, but the problem persisted. The tricky part came when I thought uninstalling might be safe since it was from the Microsoft Store. I used CCleaner to remove it, which worked, but when I opened the app again, it showed an error saying "OSD only" in a small window. If I restart the laptop, the same message appears. Now I have a blue-lit keyboard and can't change power modes or fan speed – I really want to stay silent while playing in the living room. Would resetting it to factory settings help? I suspect the program data is gone, so I'm not sure if that would fix things. Thanks very much for your assistance and any guidance you can provide. Your help means a lot! And thank you for the videos! Hopefully this helps.

I believe a factory reset might resolve the issue since they have backups for the preinstalled software. However, I’m not entirely confident, especially without knowing exactly what the CC cleaner did. The lesson here is to avoid using CC cleaner—it often causes more problems than it solves. If possible, back up any important data before proceeding with a reset.

Thanks a lot for your time and guidance! Yes, Cleaning with CCleaner could have been better, thank you very much!

I just discovered another detail, recalling what we discussed about clicking the control center icon displaying only "OSD only." It appears there was a different application named "Fn Hotkeys and OSD" that I used to adjust keyboard lighting. I thought it might be connected, so I added it from the Microsoft Store, but the same message persisted. I’m planning to reset my laptop since after updating Forza Horizon 5, the game disappeared completely. It wasn’t found in settings or search results, so I had to reinstall it from the store again. Now my storage usage is 100GB higher without any extra apps or games installed. A factory reset seems necessary at this point. I’ll do it in about three weeks when I return home with an Xbox, so I won’t miss anything. I’ll include a screenshot showing the app and control center 3.0. Thank you for your help and patience!

For anyone still having problems with Control Center, this is what fixed it for me. Go to device manager in Windows settings and uninstall "ACPI Bridge". Click the delete driver checkbox. Restart your computer and everything should be back to normal. I was glad I didn't have to do a reset to fix it. Hopefully it helps someone else.
