Recently my computer developed a new problem where it would stutter or skip frames. Whether I'm playing games or just browsing, moving the mouse across the screen causes noticeable jumps. This issue began about two weeks ago and has only gotten worse recently. To give you an idea, it affects both my 240Hz and 165Hz display, not just one monitor. I recently upgraded to a 3080 graphics card but switched back to my 2080 Super, yet the problem continues. I attempted to revert to an older Nvidia driver without success. Frustrated, I cleared my hard drives and reinstalled Windows without any improvement. The RAM diagnostic showed no faults. The system remains stable—games run smoothly, there are no blue screens, and CPU temperatures stay around 5900°C. This kind of issue is familiar to many users. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to manage, and I’m considering a power supply or motherboard replacement as a potential solution. I haven’t tried reverting to the original CPU yet, but I’m open to any advice you might have.
It might be related to the fact it works on both Windows 10 and 11. The description isn't clear enough, mentioning intermittent fTPM memory activity in SPI flash that can cause brief system delays. It also seems unusual that this started after nearly a year of using the same CPU. We're still open to a possible explanation.
