Continuous high latency persists after router restart.
Hello, I'm experiencing some network problems lately. My connection seems unstable when starting a new game, especially in League of Legends and Apex Legends. Normally the ping is around 20 ms, but after resetting my router it drops to about 110 ms. The same pattern appears in other games. I'm using a Netgear R7000 router on Ethernet port 1, and I've tried adjusting settings without success. Anyone have ideas or solutions? Thanks!
Sounds like a bug in the router's firmware. Probably some buffer is running full and a reset clears it again. You could try updating its firmware, if an update is available.
Hi, it might be another device on the router or even your computer itself that starts using bandwidth after connecting. I’ve had a similar issue with a mobile hotspot—bandwidth gets limited, and when you download or load a webpage the ping spikes, but normalizes afterward. This could be caused by updates or Windows Telemetry. Check your router’s web interface for live stats to track usage. If updates are available, consider updating the router firmware.
