Continuous 5GHz performance at full power K stays stable throughout the session
Hey, I own an i5 13600K built with a Gigabyte Aorus B660M PRO DDR4, running XMP 3200MHz DDR4. The CPU frequently hits its maximum boost setting (5GHz on P-cores, 3.9GHz on E-cores) while consuming about 29W even when usage is low around 1-2%. All cores seem to synchronize in this way—each drops to 1GHz for a brief moment before jumping back up. I noticed the HDD never powers off, suggesting Windows isn’t respecting the power plan settings. I attached a screenshot of my BIOS configuration. I’ve tried several fixes: switching energy plans, reinstalling Windows, resetting BIOS, and removing all Gigabyte monitoring software.
It's running at 798Hz with 1097 minutes of P cores and 3W power according to the HWMonitor. I haven't adjusted XMP settings yet—maybe look for a BIOS update?
