I use a Huawei 5G CPE Pro 2 router with mobile 5G connectivity (no home broadband installed). My speeds are about 300 Mbps download and 50+ Mbps upload, with ping around 14-20ms. I’ve noticed strict NAT settings causing frequent foreign server connections, which leads to high ping during games. Could you suggest any adjustments to improve my gaming performance while keeping security safe? Please let me know if you need more details. Thank you.

I haven't found a method to forward ports on mobile networks before. However, enabling UPnP might help.

Attempt to enable UPNP, but your proxy uses CGNAT which treats the NAT type as strict. Unless you obtain a private IP address or employ IPv6, options are limited.

The optimal approach is to activate UPNP, though it carries a potential security concern. Does your external IP address begin with 10?

You can locate your external IP address using tools like ping or online services. Enabling UPNP adds extra risk because it opens additional ports that could be exploited if not properly secured. From a local viewpoint, yes—your Wi-Fi password remains necessary even with UPNP enabled.

Also, how do you explain the distinction between NAT Cone and Symmetrical? No need to alter that.

Search for information on identifying your IP address. The article discusses the impact of the UpnP vulnerability and suggests checking online resources for details.

Most mobile companies place their customers inside a private network with a NAT, making it impossible to forward ports outside. This means you can't connect from the internet without using a different setup.
