The issue here is normal operation and doesn't significantly affect energy use. To reduce performance, enable Power Saver in Windows settings, then adjust Processor Power Management to Minimum Processor State and set it to full power. However, this will slightly slow things down as the system takes longer to speed up and intentionally limits its performance.

No, CAM isn't the sole app you use to check your speed.

Apologies, my interpretation was that Turbo activates only when needed. This is functioning this way at idle—only genuine program execution occurs in Chrome. The 4.4 clock isn't necessary here. Just wanted to confirm everything operates correctly during idle (as it currently does, meaning my x62 Kraken runs more than expected otherwise). Appreciate your reply and assistance. Also, Afterburner and Intel Tuning display their data in the OP. CPU-Z isn't loading right now; it's stuck at 65% storage. Any other tools that might give better results?

It seems the issue might be with CAM, which can sometimes cause problems.

Turbo Boost activates when your system meets its limits, representing the optimal frequency under ideal conditions like stable temperature and power supply from both PSU and motherboard. It reflects the performance potential rather than just requirements. If you prefer a mid-range CPU, consider a Pentium G instead of chasing high speeds. Frequency alone doesn't determine efficiency—actual usage matters. On Intel XTU, you can observe the real power consumption, which typically ranges from 1W to 2W. Increased usage occurs when the CPU is actively processing tasks, running programs, or playing games.

Thank you for your responses—very helpful, it now makes more sense. Initially, I was worried about the clock showing a consistently high time and the Kraken operating above average (usually around 1–1.2k RPM). I’m happy to adjust that as needed. Appreciate your support!
