hello i recently installed a new graphics card and noticed my pc struggles with lag spikes in certain games, slow performance overall, and high FPS without significant drops. the components i have are:

motherboard: gigabyte B550M DS3H Micro ATX
cpu: ryzen 5 5600x
gpu: gigabyte geforce rtx 4060 8 gb
ram: corsair vengeance lpx 16 gb ddr4
psu: be quiet system power 9 700 w 80 plus bronze
storage: 2 ssds (1 m2, 1 sata + 1 sata hdd)

i also mentioned it's not an overheating problem since the cpu and gpu temperatures are within normal ranges during gaming.

please help, i’m finding it hard to manage this anymore.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Hello, I recently installed a new graphics card.
What GPU did you have before this upgrade?
System power: be quiet system power 9 700 W 80 plus bronze
What is the age of your PSU and how much power did it supply during its time in use?
Motherboard: gigabyte B550M DS3H Micro ATX
BIOS version for your motherboard?
RAM: corsair vengeance lpx 16 gb ddr4
Do you have a link to this RAM kit? If it has X.M.P, is it enabled in BIOS?
I have two SSDs – one M2 and one SATA + one SATA HDD.
Would it be helpful to list the make and models of these drives for our reference.
Use DDU to remove all GPU drivers in Safe Mode, then manually install the latest GPU driver from Nvidia's support site via an elevated command, such as right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

You were using a Ge Force 1650 Ti before your new one.
The PSU in your previous build was around four years old and handled all the components you mentioned.
During its time, it powered the system as described, but instead of the 4060, it had a 1650, with a Ryzen 5 3400G replacing the Ryzen 5 5600X, and an ASRock Steel Legend B450M in place of the B550M.
The BIOS version for your motherboard is the latest one.
You have a link to the RAM kit you’re using; if it has X.M.P enabled, it should be active in BIOS.
I don’t have a direct link to the SSD you referred to, but it’s a standard 500GB SATA III SSD.
If you can’t locate the HDD model, it seems to be a regular 500GB SATA HDD.
To remove all GPU drivers in Safe Mode, use DDU and then install the latest driver from Nvidia’s support site via an elevated command.
You also mentioned using DDU about a week after installing the GPU.

Enable XMP settings. DDR4 operates at a standard rate of 2166MT/s, yet with XMP activated, your RAM can achieve up to 3200MT/s.

I attempted to turn it on again after you mentioned it, but my computer crashed three times while trying to load a game. I'm not sure what's causing this issue.
