Hello everyone, I’ve been going through some unusual issues with my PC recently. I assembled it myself using research and compatibility checks. It never really became stable, but it never displayed BSODs before this—until it would crash right after logging in. The crashes were mainly “IRQL Not Less Than or Equal” or “System Service Exception.”

I’ve tried almost everything except checking the driver multiple times (using sfc, dism, reseating RAM, testing individual sticks, etc.). Occasionally it would boot but then freeze with “Ntoskrnl.exe” appearing as the failed process.

Using WinDBG to examine the mini dumps helped identify that a file called “GenuineIntel.sys” was responsible for the crash. It’s strange because I had purchased an extra RAM kit (same type, timings, speed) based on my findings, hoping it would improve stability, but the crashes persisted. Eventually, I decided to perform a clean install of Windows 11, which led to another crash loop where I couldn’t even reach the installation screen before it failed (often showing “Critical Process Died” or similar messages).

Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Another concern is whether the XMP profile would damage the memory controller on the i9.

With a CPU that includes built-in graphics, it's recommended to uninstall your GPU and proceed with the Windows installation method. Keep in mind that the Windows installer performs optimally when just one drive is installed and you have an Ethernet connection.

I managed to get it running eventually, but it’s a faulty Windows version. Programs shut down on their own, settings sometimes fail to load, and the Task Manager isn’t recognizing my GPU.

Hello, here’s a possible rephrasing of your message. It keeps the same length and structure while adjusting the wording.

I’m working right now so I can’t test these suggestions immediately. Before installing defaults, I updated the system once and after upgrading to an i9, I ran the Intel default profile to address the voltage problems those 14th generation CPUs had before. I haven’t adjusted any settings manually out of concern about damaging my rig. I’ll try them out and let you know what happens. Thanks.

Failed to consistently install Windows 11 again. Decided to switch my CPU back to the previous i7 12700K to test. Progress is steady, no issues encountered.

So uh, sorry for wasting your time gents. I’m gonna assume letting Asus run my bios (everything on auto) fried my i9. My i7 on the other hand is already performing leagues better. I believe the memory controller specifically is what failed on it.
