Hey everyone, just wanted to share that I've been working on this issue for over a week now. I've done a lot of research, and it would really help if someone could advise me. Thanks for your time!

Problem: My gaming setup used to run CS:GO smoothly at 300-400 FPS. Now it's struggling at 100-220 FPS even without players on maps. Other games like GTA V, PUBG, The Witcher 3, and Rocket League are all fine. I can handle temperatures up to 58°C on the GPU and 45°C on the CPU during long sessions (over 2 hours).

System specs: i5-6600K @4.5GHz; Kraken X61 MSi GTX 1070 8GB OC Armor ASUS Z170-A 16GB(2x8) Corsair DDR4 2600Mhz. In CS:GO I've tried different settings—low, medium, high—and used various launch options. I also reinstalled drivers, updated everything, and even changed BIOS and MOBO drivers. I've disabled antivirus temporarily and used a different account without any changes.

I've tried everything from updating drivers to switching RAM and CPU cores, but nothing seems to fix the issue. The drop in FPS is especially noticeable on my monitor, making gameplay less responsive. I'm really hoping someone can point out what's going wrong or suggest a solution.

Any help would mean a lot!

Use the MSI afterburner overlay, ensuring it tracks CPU and GPU utilization along with temperatures. With these detailed settings at this resolution, CSGO becomes heavily dependent on the CPU.

No, I did not use any settings tailored for CSGO in the Nvidia Control Panel.

Usually I run CAM by NZXT in the background without any thermal issues. I've attached a screenshot for your reference. I've checked all the links you provided, including the Steam community page.

I can't take or display screenshots directly. However, you can check your CPU and GPU usage by using system monitoring tools or the built-in performance counters on your computer.

Avoid altering the configuration by reverting it to factory defaults.

CAM sits at the top-left, CSGO at the bottom. MSi afterburner displays identical temperatures. Two maps are used—D2 and Austria. D2 consistently achieves higher FPS, while Austria occasionally drops below 100. Yes, I attempted to turn off teammate info, but no changes occurred.

Based on the screenshots, it seems there could be too many background applications consuming resources. The CPU utilization appears significantly higher than anticipated. Additionally, VSync and other frame rate limits are likely turned off.

No background processes are running, I intentionally shut everything down for testing. VSync is off so we can use a 144Hz monitor. Ugh, I just saw "Windows Modules Installer Worker" using 40% CPU and 1 GB RAM. I stopped the task and started playing. FPS went up a bit but usage stayed low. Still not perfect. Another thing I noticed a few days back is that I can't update Windows. Every time I turn off my PC, it shows "Preparing your PC, don't turn off if it's off" for ages. After leaving it on overnight, it finally restarted, but the message keeps appearing with every other reboot or shutdown. Could this be the problem?
