When updates are missing, many people claim you don't need to, but I believe BIOS and chipset should always stay current. Updates often include crucial fixes like memory compatibility patches, security improvements, and CPU bug resolutions. Keeping them updated is essential. If your board hasn’t received recent BIOS upgrades, applying them might resolve problems you're facing. For example, if your card runs at 1875MHz but the boost is only 1710MHz, this could be causing overheating and throttling. If you use software like Afterburner or a Gigabyte solution, try downclocking to the original clock speeds to see if it helps.

I haven’t upgraded your BIOS yet. Do you have any guidance or references? Since you’re in a lockdown area, you might need to follow official instructions from your manufacturer or local support.

Visit the manufacturer's support page for your motherboard to find the latest BIOS update. Save the file, transfer it to a USB drive, and restart your computer using the designated key. Enter the BIOS settings and use the flash utility to apply the changes. Many motherboards come with detailed YouTube tutorials that walk through the process.

Okay but there is now another problem, Q-flash can't find my pen drive. The pen drive is set to ntfs.

I’ll search online for a fix for my pen drive. The BIOS version on my main board is F9 (released 2019/03/15). The newest BIOS from Gigabyte for my board is F12c (released 2019/12/18). These FPS problems began this month, and the latest NVIDIA driver update was on April 15th, 2020. Is this a BIOS issue? I also noticed in Odyssey that the GPU clock was around 1900+ MHz, while benchmarks showed 1890 MHz. Previously, games ran much faster—sometimes over 100 FPS. A YouTube channel showed high settings with an RTX 2060 and achieved about 100 FPS, but my performance is only 52 FPS now. This is similar across all my games. Report_2020-05-23_9-17.html

Updated my profile to 12c and ran a benchmark afterward. Temperatures stayed under 70 throughout, which was ideal. Previously I played at 80, but now FPS dropped below 40. Report dated 2020-05-22_12-44.html.

I put in Battlefield 5 and synced my settings using a YouTube benchmark clip. It showed 75+ frames per second, but I’m only seeing 45fps. I refreshed all my drivers, BIOS, and reinstalled Windows again.

You should consider YouTube benchmarks not as perfect for your setup since they differ in components and drivers. It’s not realistic to expect them to match your system exactly. Also, with ray tracing/dxr turned on in Battlefield, your FPS drops significantly when you disable it. Have you tried using DDU and reinstalling your graphics drivers? Also, confirm whether your 8GB memory is a single stick or dual, and if it’s just one stick you’ll be limited to single-channel performance, which isn’t ideal for modern AAA games. Your GPU usage is consistently high at 96%, with CPU spikes up to 100%. Have you checked the chipset or other important drivers on the manufacturer’s support site?

I have 16 GB of RAM, two 8 GB modules. I used ddu to reinstall the newest NVIDIA drivers. Later I discovered they had removed the latest one, so I installed the previous version. Yes, I also installed all available updated drivers from Gigabyte's support site.

I improved around 10-15 frames per second after enabling it. Occasionally the CPU usage reached 80% or 90% for a brief moment, which hasn’t happened before. This began this month. I only played video calls, used Adobe Illustrator, and didn’t run any games for a week. After that, it started happening again.
