I built this system with an i5 9600k mainboard, Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi graphics card, Asus Tuf GeForce RTX 2060 OC with 6GB RAM, G.Skill Tridentz 8GB at 3200MHz x2, and a CX Series ATX PSU (650W, 80 PLUS Bronze). Recently, my performance has dropped significantly across all games. In GTA V I now see only 70-80 FPS, grass around 40-50, while in Warzone I occasionally hit 90-115 FPS but then drop to 70 or lower. Assassin's Creed Odyssey used to run at about 70 FPS, now it's 57 FPS. My GPU stays hot above 80°C but never reaches 85°C. I've tried reinstalling drivers in safe mode and even reset Windows, but nothing helps. The issues began about a week ago, and I'm unsure how to fix them.

Are you sending the device back to its earlier setup? Since the software isn't identical, it won't maintain consistent performance. If games, drivers, and the operating system keep changing through updates, reliability disappears.

GPU temperatures generally remain under 83 degrees until then, after which it will reduce its output to maintain that level. Verify your GPU clock readings; it might have been throttling previously.

Seems like the GPU is limiting performance.

The CPU temperatures while gaming are within normal ranges. Your graphics driver has been updated to a newer version compared to previous versions. If your GPU consistently stays above 80°C, you should adjust the fan curve accordingly. Aiming for 72°C to 78°C is ideal for air-cooled cards.

What are your detailed specifications? Which case do you use? It seems the card is overheating, so tweak the fan curve or increase airflow based on your case. 83C is too warm to run steadily, and the GPU will throttle, reducing performance. Keeping graphics, BIOS, chipset, and Windows drivers/updates updated is beneficial.

However, the processor clocks run at 1875 MHz

You can modify your curve settings by accessing the latest GPU driver updates and adjusting the relevant parameters within the software interface.

It doesn't matter how fast the clock speeds are set, but if the GPU overheats it will automatically slow down to prevent damage. You can change fan settings in the system software or BIOS, and your case's airflow might also be the cause. Running at 80°C or higher is dangerous for this card. If you're overclocking, try resetting it to factory clocks to check if performance improves. If thermal throttling is the main issue, consider it before proceeding.
