Refers to a 60Hz monitor with high refresh rate, using VSync for synchronization. Discusses why 144Hz+ displays aren't always better and can even perform worse than standard 60Hz screens.
It means the game appears less smooth when locked at 60 frames per second with certain tools or settings, and looks better when running at a lower frame rate. On his monitor, which is 144+Hz, it looks worse compared to my 60Hz LG screen from 2015. He also mentioned that high refresh monitors struggle with 60fps, though I’m not sure if that’s accurate. My experience shows games look poor at 60fps on both displays.
144(Hz) doesn't evenly divide by 60(fps). When a number works, you can simply increase or decrease frames accordingly. If it doesn't work, output will have inconsistent timing and cause noticeable stutter. Higher frequencies can reduce input lag compared to lower ones, even if the frame count isn't perfectly matched.
