I’d keep that setup for a family member and plan to upgrade later with DDR5 RAM. I’ll stick with the original RAM my system came with, running it on the old setup while adding my new RAM when possible. That’s the approach I’m going to follow. I’d really like to get DDR5 RAM, but considering the need for a cooler and doubting if my current AIO can fit the 13600k, it probably isn’t feasible right now. The RAM upgrade will likely wait until then.

It seems you might want to divide them between two systems. The 16GB should work well, and overclocking would be simpler if done that way. If that's your preference, I'd go with the 13600k.

It might save some money by choosing the 13600kf over the 13600k, but it could affect performance. You likely won’t need graphics on board.

I've experienced KF chips in the previous two builds (10900KF and 13700KF) and I'm fine with that. The CPU performance is the same. However, for tasks involving streaming or iGPU usage—such as OBS or video editing/QuickSync—it's beneficial to choose the K model, as it's worth the extra $20. The main reason I opted for KF was simply because I was browsing Amazon, the KF was at its regular price, and the K was listed as a third-party seller at the time of purchase.

Checks with the MOBO, do 12th gen boards require any bios to appear? Or are they ready for 13th gen chips? I was reviewing this board: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-B660-PLUS-D4...C95&sr=8-4

Many need a BIOS update to function with the 13th generation. I’m using an MSI MPG Z690 Edge Wifi and tried flashing the latest BIOS but it failed. I had to revert to an older version that worked. It seems the previous one is no longer available, replaced by a newer release—maybe it wasn’t just my setup. I haven’t used the ASUS B660-Plus D4 motherboard with 13th gen before; I did one with a 12600K and it worked well. Probably most boards without BIOS flashback support won’t handle the 13th-gen CPU out of the box. The article lists compatible boards here:
