Last year I chose to upgrade from the 3080 ti to the 9070 xt. Initially I enjoyed it because of the significant improvements, but I now miss Nvidia. After getting the 9070 xt, it began crashing in certain games, even when I'm just browsing YouTube. I was thinking about trading in for the 5080 or investing in other upgrades. My current setup includes: 7800 x 3d, TUF gaming B650-plus with Wi-Fi card, 64 GB RAM at 6000 MHz, Montech Century 2 1200W PSU, GA 2 Lite liquid cooler, and a Gigabyte MOMO 3400Q2 monitor.

Does the system function correctly when used as intended? If it fails, that presents a different concern.

Everything is working properly, only the AMD software shows a graphics crash. It doesn't occur very often, but sometimes while watching YouTube I receive a random message from AMD Adrenaline saying there was a graphics error and the system crashed. When I first experienced it, it happened often, though it's less frequent now but still happens at least once a day.

That doesn't indicate an upgrade.
It indicates a fix.
Please give us a full parts list. Make/model of everything.
What OS and version?

Processor: 7800x3d
Mobo: Asus tuf gaming b650-plus wifi mobo
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 64gb ddrr5 6000
Graphics: Asrock Taichi Radeon RX 9070 XT
PSU: montech century 2 1200w psu
Case: NZXT h6 flow
Cooler: Lian Li GA 2 Lite
Windows 11 home
Another point to mention, identical components before AMD performed well without issues, so I inquired whether switching back to Nvidia would be a good idea—I had a 3080 ti that functioned perfectly, just looking for an upgrade when I purchased it.

Are there any particular games causing problems? For instance, I experienced crashes in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on my 9070xt. After reviewing some settings and disabling fsr and frame generation for that game, while limiting the FPS to 90, it became significantly more stable.
Your decision is ultimately yours, but you should consider whether reselling your card and paying extra for an NVIDIA card like the 5070ti or 5080 makes sense for you.
Also, verify the power profile to ensure the card is set to default or eco mode, preventing any unnecessary overclocking attempts.

I'm pretty sure everything is set to default, no particular game. It can work with any of the games I play. Sometimes I just use a browser and it crashes. It started happening after installing the 9070 xt, which is odd. The only change on my PC besides that is the liquid cooler, but it worked fine with my 3080 ti but not with the 9070 xt. Except for the crashes, it runs perfectly.

Did you install ddu during the setup? If not, consider entering safe mode and running ddu to eliminate any remaining nvidia drivers, and repeat the same process for AMD as a precaution. After that, try reinstalling the AMD drivers and check if it resolves the issues. If you're experiencing frequent crashes, you might want to replace the card. With my card, except for Assasins creed Valhalla, I seldom encounter crashes and haven’t faced many problems since the updates for that game.

^ This.
Remove all components from Nvidia and AMD using DDU in safe mode.
Once restarted, perform a fresh installation of the newest drivers for your 9070 XT.
This should help eliminate any problems linked to GPU drivers.

Yeah, I did it when I changed it out. I think I got my graphics around 6 to 7 months ago.
