That's correct. Fiber speed should be approximately 50 Mbps per provider.

Wireless routers with SIM slots let you use a phone provider's data plan and connect the SIM directly to the router. If you prefer not to have a separate plan, a $200 Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro can function as an access point or USB network card. By linking the phone to your computer, you enable USB tethering and appear online. In extreme cases, you might use your phone as a backup connection, turning it into a wireless access point so others can join if they have compatible devices. Generally, combining data from two ISPs isn't straightforward and speeds may drop. Some advanced routers can switch between providers, and you could build a custom software router using Linux if you're interested.

Phone data options aren't suitable here. They're too expensive in my region, and the signal is weak inside our home. We purchased that router using a SIM card as a backup, but I haven't thoroughly tested if it meets our requirements. It performed well for my wife during her trip to the countryside where no broadband was available. Network congestion sometimes caused problems, but the suggestions were helpful. Having two links on the same fiber is risky since a physical issue could affect both simultaneously.

For two connections to the MUX, you’d need components matching that specification, like the balance-210 model mentioned.

It seems I might need to adjust my approach then. Fortunately, both ISPs didn't fail in our building. Most problems we've faced stem from damaged cables in a remote location.

It's referred to as a dual WAN router, isn't it? Nice to hear!

So, fun story: The data center a previous employer had used 2 independent fiber connections. They left the building on different walls, went away on 2 different sets of poles, etc. If one went out, the other was totally fine! Of course, then someone took out a telephone pole like 3 or 4 miles away. Where BOTH connections eventually reconnected. The entire data center was offline for days and days and days.
