Considering the setup of this older machine for Windows 10.
I'm working with an older configuration (i5-760, LGA 1156, P55 Mobo) and only have a Windows 10 license. I'm interested in how users with similar setups have fared on past versions, especially regarding crashes or stability. The latest OS compatible with this board is Windows 8.1. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P7P55_LX/
It will function properly. I used an i3 350m on my old laptop without any issues.
I'm using two Core2 era machines with a free upgrade from version 7. Performance is stable, though not the fastest. Compared to using an HD, an SSD for the OS makes a big difference. If you wish to try before deciding, you can install Win10 without entering the key. Use the right version for the key, but skip entering it when asked. Ensure everything functions properly and locate any needed drivers before entering the key to enable activation. Windows 10 includes extensive support for older hardware, so manual driver updates may be required—especially for networking and graphics if they weren't included. If you encounter missing drivers, consider using the 8.1 versions instead.
You're using Windows 10 on an older Core 2 Duo machine from 2008, and everything seems to be running smoothly. It looks like you're safe from any issues there.
