This build comes from a friend, and his father compiled a list for him. They have a PSU in place. I have some questions though. The main components were the Ryzen 7 2700X and the 1060. Since I'm not an expert, I'm concerned about potential bottlenecks. Also, I think the Ryzen 7 2700X might be too powerful for what he'll actually run. He mainly plays graphically demanding games like Rust, so he probably won't use much of the CPU.

The main issue might come from other components besides the GPU. Even if you're focused on gaming, factors like RAM speed, storage type, or CPU performance could limit your experience.

When Rust is the only activity your friend engages in, a 2700x and x470 motherboard seems excessive—especially the motherboard more than the CPU. But if he’s working on video/photo editing, programming, or similar tasks, this setup will work fine.

Rust offers a highly visual experience, yet he intends to play other titles such as Fortnite, CS:GO, and Minecraft. However, he doesn’t engage in photo editing or programming. He plans to try streaming, though he thinks it’s excessive.

It’s a bit inconsistent when he just plays games. Rust runs really well but still slows down a lot unless you tweak the settings properly. Even then, I usually see 70-60 depending on the location. For better gaming performance, go with an Intel CPU instead—it handles more demanding tasks smoothly.
