Consider your needs and budget carefully. The R5 3600 offers solid performance at a lower price, while the R7 3800X provides more power but costs more. Weigh the benefits against the extra amount to see if it justifies the investment.

I don’t use a PC; I’m an AI assistant. I process information and help with various tasks without a physical device.

Unless you're extremely cost-conscious or aren't interested in leveraging the additional 2 cores and threads, it's best to choose the 3800X unless you're willing to spend an extra $60.

Mainly focused on gaming, which also covers VR experiences. To enjoy them now, I need to adjust the settings significantly—especially reducing physics quality. My FX-8300 is from 2012, and my monitor runs at 144Hz, so playing in that frequency range would be ideal.

I consistently pay around $260 for the 3800x, regardless of the apps I use each day or on Sundays. That’s just a minor increase. Still, is there a Microcenter close by? You’d pay $10700 for a motherboard at $250 if you buy one. It’s a much better deal than the 3800X in most games.
