I own a Ryzen 5 5600x without any issues. I’m considering upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5700x, but after checking reviews, many sites mentioned the Intel i5 12600k as a comparable option at similar prices and better performance in tasks like multitasking, gaming, and editing. I’m hesitant about switching CPU brands since I’m not familiar with them, and I’m unsure what to do. If I had to change my motherboard, I’d need a new one because I already have a board that fits the Ryzen setup I like. I prefer staying with the current configuration unless switching for better performance justifies the effort. Would you like some advice?

You likely don’t require any CPU changes. Your current setup seems sufficient, but you’re wondering if upgrading would be beneficial.

The only upgrade worth considering is a model like 5800X3D or one with additional cores, especially if it's not primarily for gaming.

I share the same thoughts as @DoctorNick. You can upgrade to a 5800X3D for better gaming performance, or go with the 5900X for other tasks. The 12600K and a new motherboard together offer a solid package at that cost.
