I’m considering a change and my current cooler, Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 chromax.black, works well with my setup (refer to the attached photo). It’s clear this model can handle the load as long as I don’t push it too hard. I’ve heard that disabling certain cores might lower power consumption and heat output while maintaining performance—something that could be useful. The 5800x3DVCache seems like a solid upgrade since I’m not targeting the 7k Series. This machine is meant for gaming and streaming, not a high-end workstation.

You're right about the 5800x3d. Disabling its cores likely won't justify an upgrade. Stick with the 5800x—it's a solid chip.

The 5800x3d doesn’t officially allow overclocking (thanks MSI), but after upgrading it works just fine. The thermal performance isn’t terrible on that chip. Upgrading isn’t necessary unless you have a specific reason—otherwise the regular 5800x is perfectly adequate.

It looks like a lot of effort isn't worth it—just hold onto what you already have.

I expanded my investigation, and it seems I’m not relying on the 1080p setting anymore. The 5800x3D isn’t necessary; I didn’t realize it was actually slower than the 5800x version. Thanks for your assistance!
