Considering a PC upgrade is on your mind.
The 1050 Ti requires external power, so don’t rely on his questionable OEM 240W PSU. The 1650 is the top performance this rig can manage, and it performs well overall. Upgrading to a Ryzen 3100 later would still give you a decent card. It handles the same power use as the 1050.
Upgrade your PSU by starting fresh. OEM desktops usually have unique motherboard connectors, so a new power supply might not fit. A better GPU exists than the GTX 1650 only because your existing supply can't support more. Consider the Q6600 – it's affordable, often found for $4 with a user discount on Aliexpress (price varies). It includes 1x4GB DDR2 RAM for about $4 or $5, plus an SSD costing around $50. You’ll also need a GTX 1650, adding roughly $150 more. If you switch to Ryzen, you can purchase a new CPU, board, RAM, and PSU, while keeping your GPU and SSD installed. Alternatively, build everything from scratch for a higher-end system at a greater expense.
It makes sense to invest around $350 for a setup featuring an Athlon 3000G and an RX 570. You could even upgrade the CPU later with the next-gen Ryzen 4000 chips when they become available. There should be some options for progression.
For a half-height slot, you'll require the low-profile 1650... It happens to be the quickest card without needing additional power, plus it's the most rapid option in a compact design.
