This was the discussion I began and the ongoing conversation we had. Some people mentioned no effect on bottlenecks, while others advised stopping and choosing a better CPU because it would be a waste of money.

Question - Is it wise to pair an i9-10850K with a 7900 XT instead of a 4090?

I visited a site that analyzes CPU/GPU bottlenecks and found that pairing my 10850K with a 6950XT would create more than a 10% CPU bottleneck at 4K. I considered this a bit excessive since both models are from the same generation as my RTX 3080. My 10850K is basically just...

Thank you for the confirmation. I typically wait 6 to 8 years before starting a new build. My issue was that because of Crypto and supply chain problems, I had to choose a prebuilt system instead. I have always preferred making my own gaming rigs and that’s what I enjoy most. That’s why I’m holding off until I can see the top AMD GPU and its performance. I’d rather invest in them than in Nvidia. Team Green seems to be gaining too much power with their dominance over high-end GPUs. Besides Ray Tracing, it doesn’t really improve my gaming experience. It just gives me fast and smooth FPS.

Literally the first post complete with receipts:
The greater the resolution (and/or detail options), the more strain this will put on the GPU. This explains why you mainly notice CPU benchmarks at 1080p using the most powerful GPU available, to highlight any differences between CPUs.”
They demonstrated that moving from the 7600X to an overlocked 13900K resulted in a 10-15% difference at 1440p with the 4090 chip. At 4K, this gap will become even smaller since the GPU becomes the main constraint. At 4K, you’ll always be constrained by the GPU, and as long as the CPU isn’t severely underperforming, you should still perform well. You can achieve about 90% of the 4090’s performance at 1080p with a 7600X, while at 4K the difference between the 7600X and the 9800X3D will be minimal.
Some individuals mistakenly think the CPU is the main issue at 4K. Assuming you’re not using a 6600K model, that’s another point to consider.

I’d prefer a B850 board. No bios updates required. Ensure the RAM you choose is an EXPO kit. You’re looking for DDR5 6000 CL30. I suggest G-skill FlareX or Z5 Neo instead of Corsair.
